Can You Feel the Love Tonight

We're back! Dave and I went to Oklahoma City Friday to see The Lion King and it was AWESOME! Grandma Jo and Auntie Andrea helped out and took Lexi for the night. To be honest, our week was so rough that I wasn't even sure if we'd be able to go. I'll start from the beginning and work my way towards the weekend.

Sunday morning, aka Mother's Day, was supposed to be a fun-filled day for moi. Even though Dave had to work all day long, his co-worker offered to cover for an hour or two so he could have lunch with Lexi and me. Then, we were going to go by Grandma Jo's house to visit with their family. Lexi slept in till 9, which meant I got to sleep in too! Great day so far! The moment I walked into her room I smelled something awful. I thought she had messed through her diaper, but when I got closer I realized it was her green beans from the night before. Poor baby slept right in it without a peep! She won herself a ticket straight to the tub, so off we went. I got her all cleaned up and decided to give her water, instead of milk, and some Cheerio's. I realized that wasn't going to work about the time she threw it all back up on me. I won't go into all the details, but her temp got up to almost 104.

Monday morning rolled around and she didn't throw up and slept through the night. She only had about 100 degree fever and was just sleepy. Dave really wanted her to see the doctor just to be safe, so I took her in. The doctor thought it was just a little stomach virus and wasn't too concerned. She weighed 21.9 lbs! He did say that the tube in her right ear looks like it is starting to come out and that some fluid was in there. He gave her an antibiotic just to be safe. Her normal doctor was full that day, but we see her today for her 18 month check-up. I'll have her double check her ears again to make sure that fluid is gone.

I thought all was well, but then she threw up Monday night, a couple times Tuesday and Wednesday morning. At this point, I called and left a message for the doctor's nurse to let them know what's going on. I was a little worried because Lexi has never been this sick this long w/o improvement. They called out an anti-vomiting medicine to try and they still didn't seem concerned. They warned me this medicine would make her sleepy and boy were they right! I swear she was only awake a total of 4 hours Wednesday!

At this point, I was getting a little worried about if she was going to get better in time for us to make the trip to OKC. The tickets were non-refundable and cost us an arm and a leg and half of the other arm. Luckily, Thursday morning Lexi woke up a whole new lady! I could tell she felt so much better. I didn't give her the medicine because I wanted to see if she could go w/o it and not throw up. She did! Thursday was a success and she has felt fine since.

Lexi's new thing is picking her nose - of course, we had to get a picture!

Not sick yet!

This was about day 3 of her stomach virus. I had to bring her car seat inside to take apart since she threw up in my car. After it was washed, she thought it would make for a great living room chair. Even comes equipped with a cup holder! Who needs a Lazyboy? This smart cookie has also figured out how to buckle her seat belt on the car seat. Thank goodness she is not strong enough to unbuckle it!

Starting to feel a little bit better

Now that she's finally feeling better, I had to put her Mother's Day shirt on. Can you see all the teeth she has coming in? She has about 4 bottom teeth that have broken through and her canines are still coming through slowly, but surely.

Blogger has officially ticked me off! I spent a couple hours last night trying to upload more pictures. It kept giving me an error and then the pictures it did upload would not rearrange the way I wanted. I give up! I will try again tonight and I'll have Lexi's 18-month results too! Stay tuned!
