18 Months

I'm a couple days late, but no one noticed, right?! Our little Alexis is 18 months old now! It sounds so much more grown up than 17 months old, doesn't it? The check up went way better than I could have imagined. First off, she is still in the less than 25th percentile for weight and height - 21.9 lbs and 30.5 inches tall. Her noggin is still large - >75th percentile - thank goodness for all that hair because it hides the noggin well. :) Her right ear had no fluid in it so that's great compared to the week before. Both tubes are still in there. Now, on to the good part - the shots. Why would the shots be the good part you might ask? Because my little lady didn't shed a tear! That's right folks! No crying, whimpering, or mean looks.

Lexi amazes me all the time whether it is not crying when she gets shots or the things she understands or her ever growing vocabulary. I'm reading a book called Toddler 411 and one thing it said was that "your toddler understands way more than you realize". It didn't really sink in until Lexi made a mess (what's new) and I told her to go pick it up. She turned around and picked up all the papers she knocked off the table and put them back. My jaw was on the floor. I usually just pick up after her because I never thought she would know how to do it. Where have I been? I must think she is still 6 months old or something. I need to retrain my way of thinking!
The vocabulary of Lexi is forever growing by the hour! Some of the newest words are diaper, Cheerio, Lexi, and she is very good at remembering what her stuffed animals are and the noises they make. One of the cutest things she does (I think) is walk backwards. It's the cutest thing to watch. Another cute thing, (yes, there is more) is she can do an almost somersault! Here's the proof!

Here's some pictures I took from Grandma Jo's (Andrea's mom) house. This was right before we left for OKC last Friday.

Kansas wind

Knocked her right over!

And here's some pictures of the Mommy and Daddy Wasser from our trip. We ate at Sushi Neko and then went to see The Lion King. The show was awesome and I wish I could have taken pictures. I got my camera in, but I saw several people getting talked to by the ushers for taking pictures, so I decided against it. Here are the few pictures we took in our hotel room and at the restaurant.

I feel pretty, very pretty! It was nice getting dressed up for a change!

Lobster shooters - lobster balls inside shot glasses with a curry sauce over them. Such a cool concept and they tasted great! Lots of calories were consumed this night!

Tempura - yummy!

Oh my goodness, I was in a sushi coma after this! I felt bad I couldn't finish it all, but I was just too stuffed! I couldn't take it with me either because we were going straight to the show. Oh well, we'll just have to go back again another time! The best was the Lifesaver roll in the middle. It was soo good! I'm hungry now!

Well, it's past 11 and I'm tired now. This post took way longer than it should. Blogger and/or my laptop is/are having issues. Lots of error messages and those never make me happy. Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We don't have any plans, but I hope we think of something. I really want to take Lexi swimming, but I don't know where yet. We'll figure that out I guess. Anyway, goodnight!

That last picture of her doing her almost somersault with that huge grin was just priceless!

My husband I are constantly shocked by how much our daughter understands and have had many of those moments where she would do something we asked and be so surprised that she knew what we wanted her to do...it's just amazing how quickly they grow, not just physically but in awareness too.

No tears after shots?! Wow...can't wait for those days to come for our little one.
